With so many photographers to choose from today, hiring the right newborn photographer for you can be overwhelming. Here are some things to consider:

Style - Does the photographer's work represent the style you are looking for? Do you want posed photos or lifestyle images?
Experience - Does the photographer specialize in how to work with babies or are they a generic photographer?
Pricing - "You get what you pay for!" Take a look at the photographer's work to see if the price reflects the quality you're looking for.

Newborn Safety

Your baby’s safety is my number one priority. I have trained in person under some of the best photographers in the industry to ensure I understand how to handle and pose newborns safely and gently. Even with years of experience, I continue to invest in continued education every year to stay current with best practices and safety standards.

You can also rest knowing that I am also infant CPR certified, giving you added peace of mind that your baby is in capable and prepared hands at all times.

Every session is completely baby-led. I carefully watch and respond to your baby’s cues, allowing them to guide the pace and flow of the session so they remain comfortable at all times. I never force a pose, and I take every precaution to support your baby safely throughout. NO image is ever more important than your baby’s safety.

When should I book?

It is never too early to book! When your baby arrives you will have a lot on your mind and choosing a photographer might not be the first thing on your list! Ideally, it is better to book before baby has arrived to guarantee your session, but I am also often able to fit clients into my schedule if baby is already here!

When you book your session, your due date goes onto my schedule, but we will not book a firm date until your little one actually arrives! Newborns are best photographed when they are around 2 weeks old.

Are siblings and family included?

Absolutely! These are my most requested photos and I am honored to capture your first family portrait!

Usually I like to photograph siblings and families at the beginning of the session so that, if possible, the older sibling(s) can leave with a parent or grandparent and have some special attention, while I finish the session with your newborn. Newborn sessions can be very long for little ones!!

What to expect.

A full newborn session usually lasts around 3 -4 hours, which gives you plenty of time to relax and take some time for yourself.

I keep the studio heated to around 80 degrees to keep baby comfortable so dress in layers! The studio is fully stocked with wraps, props and outfits for baby, so you can relax and leave everything to me!

About a week after your session we will meet again for your gallery reveal, and it is then when you choose the images and products that you want to purchase.

What's included with the Session Fee?

The session fee / deposit reserves your spot on the studio calendar and includes:

Pre-session planning and set-up of your photo session.
Use of the frequently updated collection of props, wraps and outfits.
A custom photoshoot at the NJP studio.
Preparation of your gallery.
Post-session gallery reveal appointment.

Please note, this does not include any prints or digital images.

FULL Newborn Session - $1000 (includes session fee of $200)
MINI Newborn Session - $500 (includes session fee of $150)
